With the increasing focus on environmental issues in recent years, the local demand for electric vehicles (EVs) has grown significantly in Hong Kong. However, concerns about the safety of electric vehicle batteries have also emerged, capturing the attention of the public.
Why CMA Testing
In response to these concerns, the Transport Department and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department have issued guidelines for registering pure electric and hybrid vehicles. These guidelines ensure that these vehicles meet certain safety standards during road use and charging. In line with the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, CMA Testing is now offering inspection services for the electrical components of first-time registered pure electric vehicles, electric motorcycles, and hybrid vehicles.
As an HOKLAS-accredited laboratory in Hong Kong, CMA Testing provides vehicle inspection services (for the electrical components) of first-time registered parallel imported electric vehicles, electric commercial vehicles, and electric motorcycles, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Transport Department. We can provide inspection reports to demonstrate compliance with the relevant safety requirements.
